However, the winners of our 10 Cities Events have earned a fast track directly into the Top 16, bypassing the preliminary rounds.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEvent Details\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eStore: Card Merchant Wellington\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLocation: 49 Manners Street, Wellington\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDate: Saturday, 17th October 2026\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eStart Time: 11:00am\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEntry Fee: $20\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEvent Structure\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe National Championship will be played using base game CATAN, with a maximum of five games across the day.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe event will begin with three preliminary rounds. All non-seeded players will compete across these three games, with opponents rotating each round and standings determined by overall tournament performance.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAt the conclusion of Round 3, there will be a 45-minute late lunch break.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe highest-ranked players from the preliminary rounds will then join the Cities Event winners who earned their fast track to make up the Top 16. If any Cities Event winner does not attend Nationals, their seeded position will instead become an additional qualifying spot from the preliminary rounds.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Top 16 will be divided across four semifinal tables.
